I stumbled upon Vapour Organic Beauty using my trusted hashtag search for #organicmakeup on Instagram. I saw they have a wide variety of different products and the mostly positive reviews got me curious to try some of their product to see if we might be a fit, and to see if I could potentially replace my usual makeup like the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation among others.
In the above image you see me wearing the Halo Illuminator, Siren Lipstick and Black Eyeliner. For a more detailed product review head right over to my "Videos" section!
On their website Vapour Beauty states 10 Commitments:
They are always Cruelty Free, The company supports organic farming, all of their tubes and bottles are recyclable, all their products are handcrafted in Taos, they use passive solar daylighting and windpower in their labs, offices and warehouses. Their products are packaged in Forest Stewardship council certified paper, which basically means that the paper Vapour uses, has been sourced in an environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable way, and to top it all off their packaging is printed with Soy print, which is much more environmentally friendly and makes paper products easier to recycle, than the traditional petroleum-based ink.
I absolutely love that Vapour Organic Beauty is so conscious of our environment, but let’s talk about the actual products that I have tried:
I have combination to oily skin, and what I ended up preferring is the Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation, because it gave me more of a matte finish. The Soft Focus Primer however I found just a bit to oily for my skin. I will be looking for something more mattifying. Being a performer, and a girl who got left with emotional as well physical scarring, caused by pretty bad Teen acne, the proper coverage is extremely important to me and I found that the Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation definitely satisfied me needs on that regard. The Atmosphere Luminous foundation in my case didn't perform well for me, especially on the very hot summer days here on the East Coast, and the coverage was very light. I do recommend Luminous foundation to someone with drier skin who prefers a dewy natural look. The ingredients of the formula are mostly organic and on their website it states: "The organic and wildcrafted antioxidant-rich ingredients in this breakthrough formula include brightening Camellia and Vapour’s proprietary Herbal Enlightenment Complex: Frankincense, Tulsi and Lotus to help soothe, calm and protect." There is something very reassuring knowing that I am putting on something this good on my skin. The only thing missing for me is the SPF, but you can easily apply your SPF before the foundation.
The HALO Illuminator in Moonlight has a very beautiful silvery sheen and the fact that it’s made of organic ingredient just turns it into the holy grail of all illuminators for me.
So far I have tried the Siren Lipstick in the color Coquette. The lipstick has a very bright pigment when you look at it but it actually goes on a bit more sheer – more what you would expect from a well pigmented lip gloss, but that’s not a deal breaker to be. It’s just to give you a heads up in case you are looking for a high density pigmented lipstick. It also has a very delicate and pleasant smell to it...and I am all about he smell when it comes to my cosmetic products.
The mesmerize eyeliner I love, because I will be mainly using it to for my water line. It went on really smooth, performs much better than the Tarte eyeliner that I have – because the side that I was recommended to use for my water line completely fell apart for some reason, while the liquid side is working perfectly. And again there is something so soothing about knowing that I am using an all organic non toxic product that is so close to my eyes. My eyes are super sensitive when it comes to eyeliners, eye creams and mascara and there have been plenty of times where I have experienced irritation and itchiness and I usually notice it after a couple of hours. I have used this particular eyeliner a couple of times now and am very happy to report there has not been any irritation or discomfort.
